Superbike World Championship
The Superbike World Championship (WorldSBK) is the world's premier production-based motorcycle racing series, using street-legal derived superbikes from five manufacturers rather than purpose-built prototypes. Three races per round — one long race on Saturday and two on Sunday — make for the most action-packed weekends in motorcycle racing.
History
The Superbike World Championship was founded in 1988 and has been dominated at various eras by Kawasaki, Ducati, Honda, Aprilia, and BMW. Jonathan Rea (Kawasaki) held the record for most championships with six titles, before retiring ahead of 2026. Toprak Razgatlıoğlu, four-time champion and Rea's great rival of the early 2020s, has crossed to MotoGP with Prima Pramac Yamaha, leaving the field open. The 2026 season is the 39th edition, with 22 riders across 14 teams and manufacturers Ducati, BMW, Honda, Kawasaki, and Yamaha competing. Notable 2026 arrivals include Miguel Oliveira and Somkiat Chantra.
