Nürburgring Langstrecken-Serie
The ADAC RAVENOL Nürburgring Langstrecken-Serie is a long-distance endurance series held entirely on the legendary Nürburgring Nordschleife — the 20.8 km 'Green Hell' — one of the world's most dangerous and revered racing circuits. With grids exceeding 130 cars, it is one of the most participatory motorsport series anywhere.
History
The series, originally known as the VLN (Veranstaltergemeinschaft Langstreckenpokal Nürburgring), began in 1977 and celebrates its 50th season in 2026. For decades it has been the standard-bearer for grassroots endurance racing, open to everyone from factory GT3 squads to club-prepared road cars. The 24 Hours Nürburgring, the world's largest motorsport event by spectator attendance, sits outside the NLS series proper but uses the same circuit. International stars — including Max Verstappen, who competed in the 2026 NLS2 in the gap between the Chinese and Japanese GPs — regularly use NLS rounds as preparation for the 24-hour race.
