GT World Challenge Europe
The GT World Challenge Europe Powered by AWS is Europe's premier GT3 racing series, combining a Sprint Cup (shorter races) and an Endurance Cup (longer races including the prestigious 24 Hours of Spa) into an overall championship. Organised by SRO Motorsports Group, it fields GT3 cars from up to ten manufacturers.
History
The series traces its roots to the Blancpain GT Series (2011) and the older FIA GT Championship. SRO Motorsports Group restructured and rebranded it to the GT World Challenge brand in 2019, tying together European, American, Asian, and Australian championship legs. The 24 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps, which also counts for the IGTC, is the series' flagship event. Valentino Rossi, nine-time MotoGP world champion, has competed in GTWCE in recent seasons and returns for 2026. The 2026 season is the 13th edition of the GT World Challenge Europe, with ten manufacturers on a new split-session qualifying format.
